Location: Wantage
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 a year
Job type:  Temporary, Part-time

Maternity Cover – 9-Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (pro rata, dependent on experience)
Hours: 17 – 22.5 hours per week
Location: Remote site – a valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised, detail-focused Accounts & Administrative Officer to join our team on a maternity cover contract. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, reliable, and motivated by working for a business with a strong commitment to the environment, sustainability, and its wider mission.

You will support the smooth day-to-day running of the accounts and administrative functions, working closely with colleagues across the organisation and contributing positively to both individual teams and the wider business.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable accounting experience within a growing SME, supporting both on-site and remote teams.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be accurate, well organised, and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards and meeting deadlines.

Essential:

  • Minimum AAT Level 3 qualification
  • Proven experience in an accounts and administration role or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Professional and discreet when handling confidential information
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and proactive in a busy environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an inquisitive mindset
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve shared objectives

Desirable:

  • Experience using SAGE and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Previous experience working in an SME environment
  • Experience supporting both in-person and remote teams
